Manufacturing Assembly Manager — ETI Starwin (Dayton, OH)

Role Summary:
The Manufacturing Assembly Manager leads day-to-day scheduling and production of aerospace and defense assemblies, ensuring on-time, high-quality, AS9100-compliant output across mechanical, welded, and composite work cells. This position drives throughput, workforce performance, and process discipline in a dynamic, build-to-print environment.
Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the VP/GM and the right leader should have a strong desire to be developed into an Operations Director. A growth mindset is required with the right balance between humility, servant leadership, and a highly competitive nature.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Manage assembly operations, schedules, and labor allocation for multiple programs.
Model, Improve, and Enforce AS9100, ITAR, and DoD quality and safety standards.
Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve build issues and maintain schedules.
Lead daily production meetings, KPI tracking, and root-cause corrective actions.
Train, coach, and evaluate assemblers and technicians.
Support continuous improvement, tooling optimization, and layout efficiency.
Qualifications:
5 + years of assembly or manufacturing leadership in aerospace/defense or precision fabrication.
Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, torque specs, hardware, and blueprint reading.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (JobBOSS, Epicor, or similar).
Hands-on, detail-driven, team-oriented leader.
Critical thinking skills; the ability to apply risk management constantly, proactively, and through robust RCCA when rework or scrap occurs.
